I finally got the confirmation of acceptance on the Teaching Volunteer Program in Kenya! I am so glad I took this decision. It makes me feel more alive than ever!
For one month, right after the holiday season, exactly staring on 15th of January, I'll be flying from Angola to Kenya, carrying my backpack and an aura brighter than ever! I already feel it becoming warmer with love ready to be shared.
For a long time I've been waiting for the right argument to do this volunteer thing. I tried to talk some friends on board of this idea, tried to overcome the monetary issue, and also tried to figure out if I was ready, or better, if I could carry on with the task of being a Volunteer.
Enough is enough. I got tired of waiting for the right moment, and decided to create that moment myself, without divine intervention that would come as I pleased... Three days ago, I came across the GVN web site. I loved it! Everything about it, and the simple fact of being reviewed by trusted sources (Bill Gates and CNN), gave me the spark that I was looking for!
In a pure spontaneous act of deliberation I clicked the 'Apply Now' button on the bottom of the page. And now, roughly 72h later, I got the answer that brings the temperature up, up and up! I feel alive and happier than ever! Tomorrow I'll go surfing for celebration, both of going to Kenya and the end of the semester (officially - no assignments until March!)
